4 Tips to Keep Your Vehicles Running Smoothly

Keeping your vehicles properly maintained is crucial, especially for those in the service business industry. Letting even just a minor vehicle issue go unresolved can lead to much bigger problems down the road, like vehicle accidents and costly repairs. Taking care of your vehicles is extremely important if you want to keep your field employees safe and prevent wear-and-tear down the road.

To kick off Car Care Month, here are four tips from AAA to keep your vehicles running smoothly:

  1. Check the Air and Wear of Your Tires: Did you know that 83% of Americans don’t know how to properly inflate their tires? It’s important to check tire pressure monthly with a quality gauge. You can find proper pressure levels in your owner’s manual or on a sticker on the driver-side door.
  2. Ensure Your Car Battery is Properly Charged: Make sure to check that the battery cables are connected securely to the terminals at every oil change. If there are signs of corrosion, you can disconnect the cables to better clean the areas that are hidden.
  3. Keep Those Wipers Working:  You should check the windshield wipers each month. If they are worn, cracked or rigid, it becomes difficult to remove debris. This can impair your driver’s vision and put their safety at risk.
  4. Work with a Local Repair Shop You Trust: Don’t wait until you need a repair to find an auto repair shop. It’s best to do a little research and ask around for recommendations. Once you have made your pick, take a look around the facility, talk to the employees and ask questions. All vehicles require maintenance, so it’s important to find a repair shop you can trust.
