According to a new report by FreightWatch International, the numbers of U.S. cargo thefts have increased in the three-month period between June and August with the average value per load of $166,454. What type of cargo topped the list?
• Food and drink loads
• Building and industrial loads
• Home and garden loads
Unsecured parking was the cause of 55 percent of thefts with trailer and container theft dominating all other types of cargo theft at 76 percent. So how do you make sure your cargo stays safe? And how do you track assets that have been stolen or lost?
Look for a solution provider that offers a wide variety of asset tracking devices. These devices can monitor trailers and their loads, confirm deliveries and track assets that are stolen or lost. Whether you need to track containers/pods, trailers, rental equipment or cranes, a tracking device can keep you from losing some of your most valuable assets.
Look for devices that are simple to install with a rugged design for durability to ensure you don’t become a theft statistic.
