Good News for Gas Prices

A recent Business Fleet Magazine Fuel Report shows some relief regarding high gas prices. The article, "Gas Prices Break Two-Month Losing Streak," states that "the spring rally that caused U.S. gasoline prices to peak at $3.985 per gallon in the first week of May gave way to price levels of $3.54 per gallon in late June; however, strength in Midwestern markets lifted the average toward $3.57 per gallon at press time."
While this is good news for fleet managers no matter your fleet size or industry, the article compares 2010 and 2011 prices. "Gasoline demand during the first half of 2011 was essentially on par with 2010 levels. However, U.S. consumers paid $50 billion more for their gasoline thanks to the higher prices.
