Challenge

Established in 2003, Maid Brigade® of Chicago, a Green Clean Certified® cleaning service company, needed a way to improve communication with its employees. Tammy Dunbar, Manager for Maid Brigade of Chicago, said, “Our field employees would have to call their supervisor to check their schedules and confirm any changes or issues with their appointments. We didn’t feel this was the most efficient way to handle the scheduling and needed a solution to streamline the process.”

Solution

Dunbar looked at several GPS fleet tracking solutions to automate their processes, and eventually selected the NexTraq® Fleet Tracking solution. Dunbar said, “NexTraq is a preferred vendor for Maid Brigade. That and the functionality its solution provided was the ultimate deciding factor.”

Results

Maid Brigade of Chicago uses the Job Schedule Board, an easy-to-use, drag-and-drop interface, every day to streamline its scheduling. Dunbar said, “We have increased our efficiency by automating our job scheduling process, and the benefits have been three-fold.”

Besides improving its efficiency, Maid Brigade of Chicago was able to increase the accuracy of labor hours and hold employees accountable. Dunbar said, “We could provide job validation to both the employee and client by comparing the paperwork to the Jobs Schedule Report in the NexTraq system.”

Additionally, once employees knew that hours were monitored, any falsifying paperwork stopped, eliminating inaccurate labor costs.

Dunbar also states that the Fleet Dispatch™ application and Garmin® personal navigation devices have improved accurate ETAs. She adds, “Many of our employees drive long distances in between appointments. The improved communication and elimination of double work has made us more effective.”

Other benefits? Dunbar said, “The maintenance module in the NexTraq Fleet Tracking solution has helped us out. We have three different fleets. Being able to proactively set up maintenance scheduling has ensured our vehicles are running smoothly.”
